Shocking ! Thrown off train by husband, Odisha woman delivers stillborn child on tracks

In a blood-curdling incident, a woman in Odisha’s Koraput district today gave birth to a stillborn child on the railway tracks after she was allegedly pushed out of a moving train by her husband over a trivial issue.

The woman in the third trimester of her pregnancy, along with her husband, was travelling to their hometown in Rourkela by Jagdalpur-Howrah Koraput Express after spending four days at a relative’s place in Koraput.

The couple, which had boarded the train at around 6.35 AM, had an altercation over the man talking to another woman in the compartment. Infuriated by the scene created by his wife before co-passengers on board the train, the man identified as Suraj Kerketa allegedly forced his pregnant wife out of the running train near Rauli railway station between Koraput and Rayagada.

The profusely bleeding woman gave birth to a stillborn child on the railway track near Rauli railway station, about 60 KM from Rayagada.

The grievously injured woman was rescued by Government Railway Police (GRP) and rushed to the Rayagada government hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

Later in the afternoon, the woman, identified as Sarojini, narrated the sequence of events to the police after regaining consciousness.

The husband is absconding since the incident.
