Shopkeeper burnt alive in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Phulbani, May 20:

In a tragic incident, a woman was burnt alive and her refreshment shop reduced to ashes in a fire mishap today in Pokari village under Guchhapada police station limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

According to the villagers, clothes of Sushila Sahu, the owner of the refreshment shop caught fire while she was lighting the hearth in her shop. Later the fire engulfed the shop and she was charred to death, they added.

The fire was later doused by fire tenders that had arrived from Phulbani.

Guchhapada police have seized Sushila’s body and sent it to the district headquarters hospital at Phulbani for post-mortem.
