Shops fined for violating lockdown norms in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation today fined seven shops including a jewellery shop in Bhubaneswar for violating the standard operating procedures issued for the COVID-19 lockdown.

At around 11.30 AM, a special enforcement drive was made to close the six stores.

One jewellery shop in Bapuji Nagar and six book stores near Ram Mandir were careless about the order, an official said, adding that despite SOP and repeated verbal warnings the shops were found opening.

THE BMC fined Rs 30 000 on the jewellery shop and Rs 10 000 each on six book stalls.

The drive was lead by ZDC South east Ansuman Ratha along with DC Purandar Nanda and Assistant Commissioner Lilan Sahoo.
