Bhubaneswar: Citing shortage of adequate number of Covid vaccine, the Odisha government today announced there will be no vaccination sessions in five districts of the State.

In a statement, the government said the Covid vaccination will be halted in Boudh, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts tomorrow. A total of 392 vaccination sessions have been planned in the State on April 30, 2021.

The government further said due to acute shortage of Covishield in the State, it would not be possible to give second dose of the Covid vaccine to 45+age group beneficiaries.

A total of 6.3 lakh Covishield doses are required to provide second dose to the 45+age group in Odisha. But 1.1 lakh doses of the vaccine are available with the State currently, the statement mentioned.

Today, the Covid vaccination session was halted in 12 districts of the State. However, the vaccination session was continued in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area.
