Sigh of relief: Pugmarks found in Odisha capital not of leopard

Bhubaneswar: The pugmarks spotted at Talasahi in Rangamatia area of Odisha capital today are not of leopard, contrary to what was being suspected earlier, informed city DFO Ashok Mishra.

Advising people of the locality not to panic, the official said patrolling will be conducted in the area.

A local had earlier alleged that he saw a leopard roaming in the area, following which a team of Forest Department officials rushed to the spot and examined the pugmarks.

The incident comes a couple of days after a leopard which had strayed into Palaspalli area near Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here was captured and released to Chandaka forest.
