Simlipal National Park closed for tourists from today

Baripada: The Simlipal National Park and Tiger Reserve in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district will remain closed for tourists from today, the concerned authorities informed.

All ecotourism complex inside the Simlipal Tiger Reserve will remain closed for visitors while the date of reopening will be notified later.

Operation of jungle safari vehicles will also remain closed during the period.

The closure is a part of regular management practices of the Tiger Reserve. Notably, the National Park remains closed for tourists every year during monsoon and reopens in October or November depending on the withdrawal of the monsoon. The park is closed as the roads get washed away due to rain during the monsoon season.
