Six stray dogs poisoned to death in Bhubaneswar; Complaint filed
Bhubaneswar: As many as six stray dogs were allegedly poisoned to death by unidentified persons at a slum in Chandrasekharpur area of Odisha capital.
It is being suspected that the dogs were given poison-laced food to eat, as a result of which the animals died. Condition of several other dogs reportedly turned critical after consuming the food.
‘People for Animals’ organisation has lodged a complaint in this connection with police demanding necessary action against the accused.
Police have started probing into the matter.
Earlier in January of 2022, a dog had died after allegedly being burnt alive by a woman near Budheswari Temple under Laxmisagar police limits in the capital city.
In the very month, a man allegedly shot dead a stray dog and injured another in an act of revenge as the two animals killed some of his chickens in Jagamara area of the city.
