NROs celebrate Raja festival in Netherlands

Around 30 children from different slums of the capital city and members of the Humara Bachpan Child Club welcomed the re-elected city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena at his Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office on Tuesday.

“We hope our Mayor who had promised many things during his last tenure will now fulfil those after being elected again”, said Sasmita Mohanty from Salia Sahi.

On the occasion Dharitri Patnaik, India representative of Bernard van Leer Foundation, working for the young children in India, appreciated the work of the Mayor and wished him well on behalf of the children.

It may noted that Humara Bachpan Child Club has been consistently raising issues related to children vis-a-vis poor living conditions and unfriendly environment in the slums in the city .
