Senior lawyer Surya Prasad Mishra was elected as the new president of the Odisha High Court Bar Association here on Saturday. He defeated Srikant Naik by 200 votes.

While Bidyadhar Pradhan was elected as the secretary, Tapas Kumar Praharaj, Biren ShankarTripathy, Ranjit Kumar Mohanty and Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra were elected as the joint secretary, vice-president, assistant secretary and assistant secretary (library) respectively.

According to election officer Basudev Pujari, out of 4,500 members of the Association, only 2,527 participated in the election that went off peacefully.
