With a view to provide comfortable journey to the commuters and to avoid rush in regular trains, East Coast Railway (ECoR) is running a special train between Odisha’s holy town Puri and Bhanjapur (Baripada) taking into account the passengers waiting list and demand for Baripada directions, said an ECoR official release.
The 08492 Puri-Bhanjapur Special will leave Puri at 19:45 hrs on every Friday from February 26 to March 25, 2016 and will reach Bhanjapur at 03:00 hrs on the following days. In the return direction, 08491 Bhanjapur (Baripada)-Puri Special will leave Bhanjapur at 23:15 hrs on every Saturday from February 27 to March 26, 2016 and will arrive in Puri at 05:30 hrs on the next days, the release added.
According to the release the special train has one AC-2 Tier, two AC-3 Tier, 08 Sleeper Class Coaches, two Second Class Sitting Coaches and two Guard cum Second Class Sitting Coaches having stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Soro, Balasore, Rupsa, Betonati and Baripada between Puri and Bhanjapur.
This is a special effort by the Railways to connect Puri and Bhubaneswar to Baripada based on public demand for comfortable mode of travel at night time linking Baripada with Bhubaneswar and Puri. It is expected that this train will prove to be popular among passengers who want a comfortable and peaceful night sleep and travel between Baripada and Puri/Bhubaneswar, the release pointed out.
