Staff of transport company attacked in Odisha’s Keonjhar; biz rivalry suspected

Keonjhar: Two employees of a transport company were injured after being allegedly attacked by a youth in Barbil area of Keonjhar district today. Though the reason is unknown, past enmity is suspected to be behind the attack.

As per reports, at around 2 am on Saturday, when the two staff of Maa Santoshi Transport were standing at a parking lot near their vehicle, one Giridhari Sharma of National Transport Company came to him. Without uttering a word Giridhari started beating up the duo with an iron rod.

He also threatened the two persons of dire consequences if they do not leave the place by tomorrow morning.

“The attacker was thrashing us mercilessly while saying that we cannot do business in the locality. He was calling us outsiders and gave ultimatum till tomorrow morning to leave this place,” said one of the victims.

Also, the attacker looted a cash bag containing Rs 4 lakh from the duo.
