One-day sepak takraw tourney in Odisha on Aug 29

To mark the National Sports Day, a state level one-day sepak takraw tournament would be held at the Odisha’s Barabati stadium in Cuttack on August 29.

The day-and-night event, jointly organised by the Cuttack District Sepak Takraw Association, Cuttack city Sepak Takraw Association and Cuttack Sadar Sepak Takraw Association, would be inaugurated at 11 AM and would conclude at 7 PM.

Of the 14 selected teams from Odisha, eight would participate in the men’s regu event while six teams would participate in the women’s regu event.

The winning team would be awarded a trophy along with cash award, said Satyabrata Ratho, general secretary of Odisha State Sepak Takraw Association (OSSTA), in a release here today.
