State SDG Cell puts up IEC Kiosk in Adivasi Mela

Bhubaneswar: Keeping pace with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s commitment to Leave No One Behind (LNOB), Planning and Convergence Department, the government of Odisha in partnership with UNICEF, Odisha, set up an IEC stall on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the Adivasi Mela at Adivasi Exhibition Ground in Unit-1, here.

IEC Kiosk in Adivasi Melawas kick-started in the presence of R Balakrishnan, Adviser to CM, Pradeep Jena, Development Commissioner-cum-ACS, Roopa Roshan Sahu, Commissioner-cum- Secretary, ST/SC Development Department, Manish Agarwal, Additional Secretary to Government and other dignitaries .IEC Kiosk in Adivasi Mela is part of a series of initiatives that the State SDG Cell has planned to take the SDG Agenda 2030 to the common people. The SDG IEC kiosk is set up in collaboration with UNICEF and will be active from February 20 to March 1, 2023.

The overarching theme of the SDG IEC stall in Adivasi Mela is the localization of SDGs, focusing on SDGs in Everyday life and aims at focusing on the Government of Odisha’s commitment to leave no one behind, as we march together through our state flagship schematic efforts.

The SDG IEC kiosks are among the key steps from the P&C Department to generate awareness and create a buzz among people who will visit the Mela. The initiative began this year during Sisir Saras Mela and the SDG Cell, P&C Department, received a positive response from the public visiting the Mela and received the Best IEC Activity in Sisir Saras 2023 Award.

Various communication materials like leaflets, bookmarks, wristbands, stickers etc on SGDs are on display in the SDG IEC Stall in the Adivasi Mela. Young volunteers from Sattvic Soul are educating the visitors on localization of SDGs. Small takeaways on SDGs are designed along with Signature Wall and Idea Wall in the SDG IEC kiosk. A selfie stand with SDG branding is also put up for clicking selfies and spreading the word on social media.
