Stock up swine flu medicines, Nadda tells states

New Delhi, Jan 5:

Union Health Minister JP Nadda Monday directed all the states to stock up medicines to tackle swine flu and also have diagnostic facilities for testing the samples.

He said that stocking up the medicines was important as the disease spreads every year between January and March.

“There is a constant rise in the swine flu cases in the country. Though there is no cause to panic, it is important for the central and state governments to be well prepared,” said Nadda.

He was speaking at a meeting here with the senior officials of the health ministry, health Research, AIIMS, Safdurjung, R.M.L. hospital and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

He also advised the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) network to continue comprehensive and prompt reporting so that the districts and states requiring more attention can be identified. (IANS)
