Students of Class 9, 11 to attend physical classes from Feb 8 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today decided to allow students of more Classes to attend physical learning at schools. School and Mass Education Secretary, Satyabrata Sahu informed students of Class 9 and 11 will attend the physical learning at schools from February 8.

The official added physical learning of Class 9 and 11 students will continue till April 30.

The duration of teaching for Class 9 and 11 will be from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM from Monday to Saturday. There will be no teaching on Sundays. Three periods will be taken up for Class 9 and 11 daily. There will be no recess for Class 9 and 11.

However, teaching for Class 10 and 12 will be held on Sundays as well. The timing for Class 10 will be rescheduled from 11 AM to 4 PM consisting of seven classes with recess break from 1:40 PM to 2:10 PM.

The sitting arrangements in classrooms shall be made keeping the size of the room in view so as to ensure that required social distancing as per Covid-19 protocol is maintained, said the official.

For Class 9 and 11, there will be one unit test in second week of March 2021. The annual class examination will be conducted in the last week of April 2021.

Today, anganwadi centres across the State reopened after remained shut due to the pandemic.

Earlier, physical learning of Class 10 and 12 resumed at schools in the State from January 8.

Meanwhile, the State government is yet to take a decision on resuming classes for primary school students.
