‘Sudakhya’ launched for women, girl students in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched ‘Sudakhya’ to encourage women and girl students for technical education and skill development.

Under the programme, the women and girl students, who have cleared class X examination, are eligible to get admission into the technical courses like ITI.

The students, who have cleared class VIII exam, can also be enrolled into the course under the programme depending upon the trade.

The women and girl students will be provided training under the programme.

Sudakhya was launched on Friday aiming to create self employment opportunities for the women and girls. The programme will be in operation for two years 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Under the programme, the state government is targeting to increase the number of girl students in the government ITIs during these two years.
