Sudarsan enters Guinness Books for tallest sandcastle along Odisha’s Puri beach

Bring laurels to the country, internationally acclaimed sand artist from Odisha, Sudarsan Pattnaik today registered his name in Guinness Book of Records by creating world’s tallest sandcastle.

Assisted by his students, Patnaik sculpted a 47.5-feet-high sandcastle at Puri sea beach here thereby breaking the previous world record of tallest sandcastle, which was 13.97 m (45 ft 10.25 in) tall created by Ted Siebert (USA) of the Sand Sculpture Company and a crew of 19 on behalf of Turkish Airlines, in Virginia Key Beach, Miami, Florida, USA, on 27 October, 2015.

Patnaik’s sand art bears the message of world peace along with faces of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela carved on it.
