Sudarsan to take part in World Sand Sculpting Championship in Taiwan

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik from Odisha is going to represent India at the Taiwan World Sand Sculpting Championship to be held from 25th April to 2nd May. Pattnik is the only sand artist selected from India by the selection committee for this championship.

Sand artists from ten countries, including India, will participate in this championship. The participating countries are USA, Ireland, Canada,  Russia, Nederland, Spain, Czech Republic, Togo and India. The artists will have to make a 4-meter high sand sculpture in eight days.

Sudarsan will make a sculpture on climate change at the championship. “As you know, the world is suffering from the harmful effects of global warming. That’s why I have decided to spread message about climate change through my sand sculpture,” the famous artist told OST.

Recentl,y Sudarsan was conferred with Padma Shri. He has participated in more than 50 International sand sculpture championships and festivals around the World and has won many prizes for our country.
