Summer vacation of Odisha High Court begins

The Odisha High Court which remained closed on account of summer vacation on Saturday, will reopen on June 17.

High-CourtA notification to this effect was issued by the Registrar (Judicial) of the Odisha High Court on Saturday.

As per the notification, the High Court will remain closed on May 23, 24 and 31, June 7, 13, 14, 15, and 16 on account of public holiday.

The court on the remaining working days of the vacation will remain open from 11 AM to 3 PM while all urgent Civil, Criminal and Company Act matters, which cannot await reopening of the court, will be received between 11 AM and 12 PM.

No pending case shall be listed before the vacation court without leave of the vacation judges. However, exceptionally urgent matters, which cannot await till reopening, may be listed with due permission of the vacation judges, the notification said.

The vacation bench will sit on May 21 and 27, and June 3 and 10 at 11 AM.

The following judges will hold court as vacation judges during the summer vacation.

Justice KR Mohapatra (all single bench civil and writ matters) on May 21

Justice SK Sahoo (all single bench criminal matters) on May 27
Justice BP Ray and Justice Biswanath Rath (all division bench matters) on June 3
Justice BK Nayak (all single bench civil and writ matters) on June 3
Justice DP Choudhury (all single bench criminal matters) on June 3
Justice Sanju Panda and Justice DP Choudhury (all division bench matters) on June 10
Justice Raghubir Das (bail application under section 438 of CrPC) on June 10
Justice AK Rath (all single bench civil and writ matters) on June 10
Justice SK Sahoo (bail application under section 439 of CrPC and all single bench criminal matters) on June 10.
