Supporters of Sum Hosp owner create ruckus at PS, attack media persons

Several supporters of SUM Hospital owner Manoj Nayak, who was arrested this morning, staged demonstration in front of the Khandagiri police station here protesting the arrest.

They also scolded and tried to attack media persons present at the spot for covering the incident, sources said, adding that they attempted to damage Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van.

On being informed, Bhubaneswar DCP Saytabrata Bhoi reached the spot. The cops later managed to disperse the crowd and take the situation under control.

Notably, Khandagiri police arrested Nayak this morning after he surrendered before it in connection with the fire mishap at the hospital which claimed 21 lives.

Nayak was interrogated at an undisclosed location after his arrest, sources said.
