Surrendered woman Maoist Jyoti ties the knot in Odisha

Phulbani: Woman Maoist Jyoti Madkami, who had surrendered before the police, started her new innings of life on Friday by tying the knot with her love.

She got married to Rahul Mallick, a resident of Bataguda village, at a temple in presence of police in Phulbani yesterday.

The police made all the arrangements for the wedding. The district SP and other senior officials attended the ceremony to bless the newlywed couple.

According to reports, Jyoti and Rahul were in love with each other since the years when the former was accommodated in police colony after she surrendered before police in 2015.

The couple wanted to tie the nuptial not for which they sought permission from the district SP.

With help of the district police, the two lovers Jyoti and Rahul finally married and police performed ‘kanyadan’ ritual.

Notably, Jyoti was active in the red corridor for nearly 14 years in Chhattisgarh. She gave in to the Boudh police in 2015 to join the mainstream.
