Suspended staff of service coop society found dead near railway tracks in Odisha

Balasore: Mystery shrouds death of a suspended secretary of a service cooperative society  (SCS) who was found dead with multiple injuries on his face near railway tracks in Bahanaga block of Balasore district today.

The deceased identified as Pradipta Dash was suspended from his job few months ago after corruption charges were leveled  against the Panapana Service Cooperative Society by its depositors.

Though the exact cause behind his death is yet to be ascertained, police have begun an inquiry in connection with the  incident.

As per sources, following irregularities in the cooperative society for over 10 months, depositors and farmers had raised their voice and alleged corruption of Rs 1.81 crore in the SCS. Later, a departmental inquiry was conducted into the corruption charges leading to suspension of Pradipta.
