Swargadwara land grab: Odisha’s dist admin initiates eviction drive

Taking action against illegal encroachment in the premises of Swargadwara, Puri district administration today initiated the eviction drive.

The municipality demolished a building constructed on 4 decimal area and a shop.

Besides, a two-storey building owned by a local on Swargadwara land since past 10 years was also demolished in the drive.

The eviction drive was initiated after the nine-member committee probed into the allegations of Swargadwara land grab.

The panel headed by Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal has submitted the preliminary report to RDC (Central range) AB Ota.

Notably, Swargadwara had 16.735 acre. However, the cremation is taking place in only 1 acre, out of which 485 decimal area has been encroached.

Earlier, the district administration has evicted the houses constructed on 85 decimal.

Currently, notice has been sent to demolish the encroached houses built in 400 decimal. Also Read:
