Swine flu claims third life in Odisha

The swine flu death toll rose to three in Odisha following the death of a man in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as Anup Kumar Sahu (42) from Baleswar district, was staying at Saanpur area on the outskirts of the city and working in a private company.

He was admitted to a private hospital here on February 17 and died on Sunday morning.

As informed by Kailash Das, director, Public Health, out of the 71 swabs tested this year, 11 have been tested positive.

“We have advised the people not to panic as the state government has taken adequate precautionary measures. “We have opened isolated wards in the district hospitals and medical colleges and hospitals for the swine flu patients. Besides, people are being sensitized about the disease,” he added.
