The SCW has served notice to a Delhi-based bureaucrat to appear before it on Oct 30.

Refuting the allegation of extra marital affair, senior IAS officer Taradatt today said that he has no intention of delaying the hearing at the State Commission for Women (SCW).

“I have no extra marital affairs. My personal and public life is impeccable. I have maintained utmost morality in my married life,” said the Additional Chief Secretary Taradatt.

On his not attending the SCW for counselling on October 13, Taradutt said that he had received the notice very late at 7 pm and the next day was a working day.

“I have deposed before SCW for 5-6 times earlier. This time I got the notice at 7 pm on October 13 and the next was a working day. I have no intention to delay hearing process,” he added.

The senior officer’s wife Indulata Das, a renowned educationist and researcher in Sanskrit, had alleged that he is having an affair with Delhi-based woman officer.

On the land scam, Taradatt has said that there was no illegality in his house at Chandrashekarpur, “I had bought 0.10 acre land at Rs 67,055 in 1993 when I was joint secretary of ST and SC development department. I was no way associated with General Administration and Revenue department then.”

“I made the sale deed after scrutiny of right and title, got the patta in 1993 after tehsil mutation from one Ucchab Sahu,” Taradatt clarified.

The court of Board of Revenue member Ashok Tripathy has served notices to 53 persons including the two senior IAS officers, Taradatt, and another senior IAS officer of Odisha cadre S.N. Tripathy for purchase of disputed government land and construction of houses on it.

The court had further directed the Crime Branch for an inquiry into the land scam of about 4.5 acre of government land in Chandrasekharpur Mouja in the city.
