Bhubaneswar, Aug 12:

With senior leaders of BJD and Cooperation minister Dr Damodar Rout demanding restructuring of the task force constituted to probe the misuse of discretionary quota (DQ) in the allotment of plots and houses in the Twin City, Odisha Housing and Urban Development minister Puspendra Singhdeo today justified the government’s stand saying he does not buy the allegations of the party leaders.

“I have great respect for all the senior leaders of my party, including Rout. But I beg to differ with their opinions. The government has done the right thing and the task force will probe the matter in right earnest,” said the minister in his reaction.

It is to be noted that several senior BJD leaders, including Rout and ex-ministers Prafulla Ghadai, Prasanna Acharya and Kalindi Behera, have demanded that the task force is credible and does not have any member who has played a part in allotments under the discretionary quota.

They have demanded the restructuring of the committee citing that its members and departments have facilitated misuse of the quota.
