Tata Steel- CMC to set up ‘Samarth’ Centre at Gopalpur

With an aim to augment employability of the youth through quality technical job enabled training, Tata Steel has roped in CMC Academy, the leading arm of India’s IT major CMC Ltd. to start ‘Samarth Skill Development Center’ under Gopalpur Project.

Inaugurating the centre the District Collector, Ganjam said that Information technologies now play a pivotal role in advancing social good for emancipating the vast youth force from mediocrity and backwardness. Lauding the Tata Steel’s contribution in pioneering the knowledge management process for Berhampur along with adjacent areas, rapidly evolving as a new hub of professional education, the Collector said that the company’s future welfare initiative establishing a state of the art 500 bed hospital in Gopalpur will be a boon not only for the project affected people but for the entire community residing in the peripheral localities.

Briefing about the Centre, senior officials from TSRDS said that this effort aims at imparting effective computer education and learning experiences through innovative technologies.

Through this initiative, the local students of Berhampur and beyond will gain specialized job enabled IT training for nine months in both software as well as hardware & networking. Apart from this, ‘Samarth’ will also provide a unique ‘Communication Edge’ program for building communication, presentation and interview skills with nuances of personality development in enabling the students to face the challenging demands of industry.
