Tata Steel’s Jyoti Fellowship for meritorious students

Gopalpur, Mar 7 :

Bringing joys to around 130 school students of Rangeilunda and Chhatrapur blocks of Ganjam district, Tata Steel has offered Jyoti Fellowship to them.

At a special ceremony organised at the auditorium of J N Tata Technical Education Centre, Gopalpur, the fellowship was given to the ST and SC students who were chosen on the basis of merit from around 10 local schools.

Along with cash awards, the students were also provided with solar lanterns and tablet PCs worth more than Rs 7 lakhs.

With an objective of providing genuine handholding support to meritorious ST and SC students belonging to economically weaker section, the Tribal Cultural Society of Tata Steel has been providing Jyoti Fellowships in and around Tata Steel projects and operations.

The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of Berhampur University, the District Education Officer and Senior Tata Steel officials including Mr Sushant Mishra, Chief, Project Gopalpur and SEZ.
