Teacher found dead with throat slit in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A teacher was found dead with throat slit near Kharla Bypass Bridge in Kuchinda area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district, today.

The deceased was identified as Prithviraj Mahananda (38). He was working as a teacher at Mantrimunda Primary School and residing in Ward No. 6 of Kuchinda NAC.

Though the reason behind the death was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that he was murdered.

Locals spotted the body in a pool of blood this morning and informed the Kuchinda police.

Cops have recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which he died.

As per reports, he went out of his house yesterday in the afternoon with a scooter and informed his family members that he would return home late at night.

Some of the locals had spotted him sitting near a Lassi shop, reports added.
