For Tejaswi working with RGV is a dream come true

Chennai, July 2:

Actress Tejaswi Madivada, who is playing the lead in Ram Gopal Varma-directed Telugu thriller “Ice Cream”, says working with the auteur matters the most to her and not whether he is able to churn out hit films or not.

“RGV might not score a hit this time. He might not deliver a hit for next five years, but it’s RGV at the end of the day! The experience of working with him matters to me than anything else. I signed the film blindly because that was all I wanted,” Tejaswi told IANS.

Tejaswi, who has so far appeared in brief roles in films such as “Manam” and “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu”, agreed to do the film because it wasn’t “commercial”.

“Honestly, the only reason ‘Ice Cream’ happened was because it wasn’t a commercial film. I always wanted to be part of a realistic film where there is less to act and more to live. I got to live in my character in the film,” she said.

“Working with RGV was a dream come true because he lets you be yourself, gives you space to act without the camera restrictions,” she added.

Varma is known for toying with technology in his films. In “Ice Cream”, he has introduced the flow-cam technology.

Quizzed about the experience of shooting with flow-cam, Tejaswi said: “I think this camera made me go mad. It was behind me – like a person recording me. I must say I was more than lucky to have got the opportunity to have worked with it and all thanks to the maestro RGV again,” Tejaswi said.

Having gained popularity with her cameos so far, she says she doesn’t mind taking up such roles in the future too.

“Popularity is the last thing I want. I want to be happy with whatever I do. It could be a cameo or a commercial movie. I’m not looking for any particular genre or role because I will pick up a role based on my mood and instinct,” she added.

For now, the actress has a couple of Telugu projects in the offing.
