Tension in Bhushan after labourer dies in mishap

Tension ran high at the Bhushan Steel plant at Kantabania near Meramundali of Dhenkanal district following the death of a labourer this afternoon.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as Chhabi Pradhan, fell inside the coal washery of the plant. He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors pronounced him ‘brought dead’.

Following the incident, the labourers sat on a dharna in front of the main gate of the plant demanding compensation to the family of the deceased. The irate labourers also locked the main gate.
