These showrooms in Bhubaneswar sealed for COVID-19 norms violation

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today seized several shops and business establishments in the state capital for violation of social distancing norm and other Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) set by the state to curb spread of the virus.

An enforcement squad of the BMC sealed the Amber garment showroom at Janpath here for indefinite period for violation of social distancing and other COVID-19 guidelines. This apart, Sports Emporium at Jaydev Vihar, FAB India garment showroom, Bhai Bhai tiffin shop near Ravi Talkies Square, OMFED booth at Ekamra Road, Lingaraj Lasi at Rupali Square and two small hotels at Saheed Nagar were  sealed today for violating the COVID-19 guidelines.

“The shops have been closed for violation of lockdown measures and directives issued for COVID-19 management as per the provisions of Section-51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act-2005, Section 188 of IPC, the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and other legal provisions as applicable,” said an official order issued by BMC Commissioner.

Earlier in May, the enforcement squad of the BMC had sealed the Bapuji Nagar market for violation of lockdown norms.
