Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The Odisha government will invest Rs 70 crore for development of Maa Cuttack Chandi temple. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took a decision in this regard today.

A stone boundary will be constructed around the Maa Chandi temple and four gates will be set up.

Also, new Jagamohan, Yagnya Mandap, Chandi Patha Mandap, Mundan Mandap, Hanuman temple and kitchen will be established on the premises of the temple. The floor will be made up of Khondalite stones on the premises.

CCTV installation and proper lighting arrangements will be done as well. The Batamangala temple will also be built anew.

Police control room, cloak room, drinking water facility and audio guide facility, a ‘Yatri Nivas’ for devotees, common room for sevayats will be set up near the temple.

As many as 18 shops will be established for displaced shopkeepers. Parking space will be allotted and landscaping will done.

The development of the Maa Cuttack Chandi temple will be carried out under the Integrated Development of Heritage, Monuments and Tourist Destination scheme of the Odisha government’s 5T initiative.
