Three arrested for abducting album actress in Odisha capital

Odisha police late on Saturday night arrested three persons for allegedly kidnapping and molesting an Ollywood album actress in the city.

According to reports, the victim was returning from work late in the night with two of her colleagues on a two-wheeler after winding up work in a studio in Patia area. However, an SUV followed them and four of its occupants kidnapped her.

At around 1 am, some motorists heard screams coming out from a stationary SUV on Baramunda flyover and alerted PCR control room suspecting wrongdoing.

The Khandagiri police swung into action and rushed to the spot along with five PCR vans.

The police surrounded the SUV bearing registration number OR 02 AP 8456 and rescued the distressed girl.

Three persons have been arrested on charges of kidnapping and the vehicle has been seized. However, one of the accomplices managed to give police a slip.

The arrested have been identified as Bikash Kumar Behera (24) from Gopinathpur village under Raj Sunakhala, Bankanidhi Sahu (26) from Surukabadi and Sisir Kumar Nayak from Belapadar village under Bolagarh.

Police are on the lookout for the fourth aide involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, victim’s statement has been recorded under 161 of CrPC.
