Three Bol Bam devotees killed in road mishap in Odisha’s Balangir

Patnagarh, Aug 15:

In a tragic incident, three Bol Bam devotees (Kanwarias) were killed and two others injured after a van hit them near Chaulabaji village under Khaprakhol block in Odisha’s Balangir district early this morning.

The deceased were identified as Bhaskar Mallick, Devki Bhoi and Bindu Majhi. While Bhaskar died on the spot after the accident, Devki succumbed to injuries on the way to Patnagarh hospital. On the other hand, Bindu died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, sources said.

The injured Kanwarias have been admitted to the hospital as well, sources added.

According to reports, the accident took place at around 4 am when 35 Bol Bam devotees of Ghagra in Belpada block were returning to their village after completing Jalalagi ritual at Harishankar temple.

The driver of the van fled the spot soon after the accident.
