Bhubaneswar, Aug-2:
As part of the exercise to improve the traffic management system while ensuring safety of the pedestrians, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to construct three modern Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at Master Canteen square, Ramadevi College Junction and Jaydev Vihar junction in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Sources in the BMC said the modern FOBs shall have staircases and lifts based on the site conditions and sky walk across the road. Project module of FOB includes an internal minimum width of 3 metres connecting all sides of the road/junction and vertical height of 6 metre from Finished Surface Level (FSL) of the road to the bottom of skywalks.
Staircases connecting the landing and the sky walk will have other utilities like signage, foot path/pavement, barricades, drinking water facility and dust bins at FOBs will be provided. The lifts provided on both side of the road will be very much beneficial for the handicapped and elderly persons to cross the road without difficulty.
M/s Ajanta BV Media Initiative has been awarded the contract for construction of the FOBs on PPP mode by BMC in lieu of advertising rights on the FOBs. The entire investment of construction will be borne by Ajanta BV Media Initiative.
