Three from Odisha find place in Times Higher Education Rankings. Here’s details

Bhubaneswar: Here’s good news for students and academicians in Odisha as three premier educational institutions from the State — IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT-Rourkela and KIIT University –found place in the ‘Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019’.

As per the ranking results published on Wednesday, IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela have been placed between 601-800 ranks out of 1,258 institutions in the world.

KIIT is the only deemed university that made an impressive debut in the world university rankings. It has been placed in 1000+ ranking category.

Total 33 institutions from India have found place in 1000 best of the world institutes in The World University Rankings.

Among Indian universities, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore remains in the top position in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2019. It is ranked between 251-300 sharing position with Jacobs University, Germany and University of Illinois, Chicago among others.

Similarly, IIT Indore is placed second among Indian higher educational institutes followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur. IIT Bhubaneswar found place in the rank category of 601-800 along with IIT Guwahati, IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad, University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Amrita University, Tezpur University, Panjab University, Jadavpur University and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune.

Globally, the Oxford University topped the world university rankings followed by the University of Cambridge and Stanford University. While Massachusetts Institute of Technology ranked fourth, California Institute of Technology is in the fifth position among top universities in the world.
