Three including minor killed as truck hits car in Odisha’s Khordha

In a tragic incident, three persons, including a minor boy, were killed and a girl sustained injuries when a car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck head-on at Anantpur near Balianta in Odisha’s Khordha district this morning.

According to reports, the mishap took place when two students were on the way to school along with their respective parents. A truck coming from opposite direction jumped road divider at Anantpur and collided with the car in which the four were traveling.

While two parents and a boy student were killed on the spot, a girl student sustained grievous injuries in the accident and was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Tension gripped the spot following the incident as irate locals blocked Phulnakhara-Niali road disrupting vehicular movement in the route. However, the blockade was withdrawn after police reached the spot and pacified the locals.

The driver of the truck fled the spot and went absconding after the accident. Police have initiated efforts to identify and nab him.
