Three killed, five hurt in road mishap in Odisha’s Bolangir

Patnagarh (Bolangir), May 29:

At least three persons were killed and five others seriously injured when a Bolero pick up van carrying 20 labourers met with mishap near Belapada in Odisha’s Balangir district after its driver lost control over the vehicle this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Santaram Yadav, Jagmohan Yadav and Kunjakant. All of them hail from Sinapalli area in Nuapada district and were on their way to Bargarh, police sources said.

Police said the injured have been shifted to the Government Hospital at Patnagarh and the bodies of the dead have been sent for post-mortem.  The driver and conductor of the vehicle are absconding after the incident, police added.

“A Bolero pick-up van carrying 20 labourers met with accident after it lost control near Belapada. They hail from Sinapalli area in Nuapada district. Three have died. The injured have been shifted to Patnagarh hospital. Bodies of the dead have been sent for autopsy. The driver and conductor of the vehicle are absconding,” said Ramakant Jena, IIC Belapada police station.
