Three more COVID-19 hospitals taking shape in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Even as the deadly COVID-19 spread its tentacles in the State, three new stand alone COVID-19 hospitals will come up in Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts soon.

5T Secretary VK Pandian and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today visited the three districts and reviewed the progress of these hospitals being set up by the Odisha government.

Tata Steel is setting up a 150-bed COVID-19 hospital at Jajpur whereas SUM Hospitals will manage such hospital with 200 beds at Kendrapara.

Salandi Hospital will manage the COVID-19 Hospital at Bhadrak. It will have 120 beds.

Official sources said the 5T Secretary and Chief Secretary reviewed manpower tie up, medicines, ICU facility and isolation wards of the hospitals and expressed satisfaction on the progress of work.

Also, the 5T Secretary and Chief Secretary discussed with Collectors and SPs about enforcement on lockdown, maintenance of social distance, decongesting market areas and communal harmony in the districts.

The State government has already established COIVD-19 hospitals in KIMS hospital in Bhubaneswar, Aswini Hospital in Cuttack, SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Hitech Medical College and Hospital in Rourkela and IDH, Puri.
