Three Odisha cops suspended for keeping seized ganja at their govt quarters

Boudh: District SP has suspended three cops for allegedly keeping seized ganja at their government quarters and letting the accused go scot-free.

Those placed under suspension are Baghiapada police outpost in-charge Sanatan Pradhan and two constables Sanjeev Pradhan and Keshav Pradhan.

According to reports, a youth was carrying 13 kg of ganja on a motorcycle on January 17 night in Baghiapada area. He was intercepted by the three policemen at Beredaberi. They seized the contraband and took him to the police outpost.

Later, they allegedly had a deal with the youth. Subsequently, they let him go without any action against him. The three cops also hid the seized ganga at their government quarters.

On January 18, Boudh SP came to know about the matter and questioned the erring policemen. The official also directed the Boudh police station IIC to probe into the incident.

During investigation, the IIC found the ganja at the government quarters of Sanatan Pradhan. The probe further revealed that he was peddling ganja while the two constables were also involved in the offence.
