Three students commit suicide in Odisha in 24 hours

Kabisuryanagar: A remote village in Odisha’s Ganjam district woke up to distressing news as a teenager allegedly committed suicide by hanging self on the school premises.

The deceased, a Class X student, identified as Bapi Bhuyan was found hanging on P Laxminarayan High School premises this morning.

As per family sources, Bapi had left home for private tuition at around 7 am. However, they got information at about 7.40 am that he has hanged himself from the ceiling fan inside a class room in the school at Gudiali.

Sources revealed he did not go to attend tuition class this morning.

As the deceased was using smartphone, it is suspected that he might be a victim of the deadly online Blue Whale game.

Meanwhile, police have begun investigation into the incident.

On the other hand, two minor girl students committed suicide yesterday at Dunguripada village under Town police limits in Bolangir.

The students of Class IX of Navajeevan Bidyapeeth hanged themselves to end their lives.

While one committed suicide in the morning, the other ended life in the afternoon. They both belong to the same village.
