Thunderstorm alert for 22 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and rain is likely to lash as many as 22 districts across the state today.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre, moderate thunderstorm and light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at several places in districts like Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Cuttack, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Angul and Dhenkanal till 8.30 pm today.

Besides, gusty wind with speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph is likely to prevail in these places during the period, the weathermen added.
