Thunderstorm alert for these Odisha districts for 5 days

Bhubaneswar: IMD issued thunderstorm alert for several districts of Odisha for five days starting from today.

As per the mid-day weather bulletin issued by the IMD dated June 1, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to hit at least 10 districts for 24 hours.

Day 1:

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Puri, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur today till tomorrow morning.

Day 2:

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati during June 2 to June 3.

Day 3:

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal from June 3 to June 4.

Day 4:

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Koraput, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore between June 4 and June 5.

Day 5:

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam during June 5 to June 6.

However, there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha. It is likely to be 42 degree C or above at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha during next five days.
