Thunderstorm alert issued for 16 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: As western Odisha is reeling under the impact of heatwave, the coastal part of the state will experience thundershowers this evening.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued thunderstorm warning for as many as 16 districts of Odisha today.

Parts of Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Khordha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri and Rayagada will experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning.

The latest weather bulletin also predicted light to moderate rainfall and gusty wind at 40 kmph in these areas.

Such weather conditions are likely to prevail between 5 pm and 8 pm this evening, as per the forecast of weathermen.
