Thunderstorm, squall likely to lash these Odisha districts as IMD issues Orange Warning

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

Thunderstorm accompanied with squall and wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak, the IMD predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Dhenkanal, the agency added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.

In terms of temperature forecast, the IMD said there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 5 days.

It is likely to be 42℃ or more at a few places over some districts of interior Odisha (Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda and Nuapada).
