Thunderstorm warning for 18 districts in Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, issued thunderstorm warning for at least 18 districts including Khordha and Cuttack for today.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and Angul.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Nabarangpur.

Such weather condition in these above districts may continue till April 15 (tomorrow) morning, the MeT stated in a bulletin today.

Furthermore, thunderstorm with lightning is on the cards for several districts till April 19 morning.

The MeT has issued a yellow warning for some districts for next four days.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri during April 15 and 16.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara,
Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, , Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri between April 16 and 17.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj between April 17 and 18.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Gajapati from April 18 to 19.

According to the weather bulletin, there will be no large change in maximum temperature during next five days. Maximum temperature is likely to be more than 40 degree Celsius and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of interior Odisha during next 2 days.

It is advised to take precautionary measure for hot weather condition while going outside during midday between 12 pm and 3 pm.
