Thunderstorm warning for 23 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: As many as 23 districts are likely to experience thunderstorm today in Odisha.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Such weather condition may continue till tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, the trough at mean sea level from west Uttar Pradesh to Assam now runs from northwest Rajasthan to East Assam across Haryana, north Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The Bhubaneswar MeT has issued yellow warning for several districts till July 7 morning.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Balasore.

July 4 morning to July 5 morning:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara.

July 5 morning to July 6 morning:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Rayagada.
