Thunderstorm warning issued for 13 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph is likely to occur in 13 districts of Odisha today till 6 pm, the local meteorological centre predicted.

The districts likely to be affected are Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada between 2 pm to 6 pm,” said a bulletin issued by the local meteorological centre here.
