Thunderstorm warning issued for 15 Odisha dists; Monsoon to hit Kerala by June 3

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here today issued thunderstorm warning for as many as 15 districts of Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Nabarangpur today, the Meteorological Centre said.

As per the latest meteorological indications, the southwesterly winds could strengthen further gradually from June 1, resulting in likely enhancement in rainfall activity over Kerala. Hence, the monsoon onset over Kerala is likely to take place by June 3, the Meteorological Centre added.

Temperature Forecast: No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
